Don't be intimidated ... here are some ideas ...
A resume makes a FIRST IMPRESSION BEFORE ANYONE SEES YOU! Take advantage of these
helpful hints we've gathered.
- Set your page layout for wide left and right margins, about 1.5 inches each.
- BOLD your name. Address and phone number should be in normal type.
Everything in heading should be centered.
- Do not abbreviate state, street, avenue, etc. Resumes are formal documents.
- Balance blank space and text. Paragraphs that are too long cause the reader to skip
over them.
- Use high quality paper in light colors or white. DO NOT use neon or bright colors.
- If you are making copies at a print shop, don't use the "public" copiers. Have them
run professionally by the shop.
